How /pay works on Donut SMP

The command

/pay <player> <amount>

So sending 500M to a player called AlexTrades is /pay AlexTrades 500000000. The money leaves your balance the moment you press enter, and the other player sees it arrive.

Check in the chat that the server confirmed it. If nothing is confirmed, nothing was sent, and sending again “to be sure” is how people pay twice.

Before you press enter

• Read the name twice. Names that differ by one character, a zero for an O, an added underscore, are the whole scam. Copy the name from where you were given it rather than typing it from memory.
• Check the amount. An extra zero is a very expensive typo, and the server will not undo it.
• Check your balance first so the command does not fail halfway through a trade and leave everyone guessing.
• Bedrock players: your name carries a dot in front of it on Donut SMP. Include it when you tell someone your IGN, and expect to see it in theirs.

It cannot be reversed

There is no undo. Once the money is on another account, getting it back depends entirely on that player choosing to send it back. That is why the name matters more than anything else in this guide.

If you do pay the wrong person: ask them, and ask the server staff. Neither owes you anything, and neither can force a refund, but people do sometimes return money that clearly was not meant for them.

When you are selling money to us

The account to pay is written in the chat on your own order page, and nowhere else. It is not on this website on purpose: a name sitting on a public page is a name scammers copy.

• Only pay the account named in your own order chat.
• We never message you first asking for money, on Discord, in-game or by email.
• The account can change between orders. Always read the current chat, never reuse a name from an older trade.
• Unsure whether a message is really from us? Ask in the order chat. That thread is proof of who you are talking to; a DM is not.

Sending in parts

Nothing stops you from sending a big amount in several /pay commands, and if it makes you more comfortable, say so in the chat. We will record each part and pay for it before you send the next, so you are never exposed for more than one part at a time.
